Magnetic separation has a long history and wide application in the iron removal from kaolin. PTMS magnetic separation can almost be used to process various types of iron impurities in kaolin, thanks to its unique principle. The basic principle of magnetic separation is to use the differences in magnetic properties of different minerals to separate magnetic minerals from non-magnetic ones in a magnetic field. In nature, kaolin contains a wide variety of iron impurity minerals.
Magnetite and ilmenite belong to strong magnetic minerals. These minerals have high magnetism and can be effectively adsorbed and separated under the magnetic field strength of conventional PTMS magnetic separation. For such strong magnetic minerals, conventional magnetic separation equipment is generally used for iron removal. Conventional PTMS magnetic separation equipment typically includes permanent magnet separators and electromagnetic separators. Permanent magnet separators have advantages such as simple structure, stable operation, and low energy consumption.
PTMS magnetic separation Utilizing permanent magnets to generate a magnetic field can effectively adsorb strongly magnetic minerals. In actual production, permanent magnet separators are typically installed at appropriate positions along kaolin conveying pipelines. When the kaolin slurry passes through, strongly magnetic magnetite and ilmenite are adsorbed onto the magnetic medium of the separator, thus achieving separation from kaolin.
