For kaolin containing coexisting strong and weak magnetic impurities, the recommended solution combines permanent magnet series with electromagnetic series in a tandem PTMS MAGNETIC SEPARATOR configuration.
The first-stage system employs permanent magnet PTMS MAGNETIC SEPARATOR technology, leveraging its cost-effectiveness and energy-free advantages to rapidly remove strong magnetic impurities such as large particle-grade magnetite (Fe₃O₄), thereby reducing the load on subsequent electromagnetic equipment. The second stage utilizes high-gradient electromagnetic PTMS MAGNETIC SEPARATOR for deep purification of residual weakly magnetic fine particles like hematite and limonite.
The PTMS MAGNETIC SEPARATOR system has been successfully implemented at a kaolin processing plant, achieving a remarkable reduction in Fe₂O₃ content from 1.1% to 0.28% while boosting whiteness by 7.3 percentage points. For raw ore with high moisture content or strong viscosity (post-washing pulp), a combined PTMS MAGNETIC SEPARATOR process integrating "dry magnetic separation + wet magnetic separation" is recommended.
