In terms of technical implementation, a mature PTMS MAGNETIC SEPARATOR has been developed for recovering valuable minerals from kaolin iron-removed tailings, centered around the "grading-sieving combined process". This method first classifies the tailings through wet screening or hydrocyclones to remove fine clay particles, thereby enhancing subsequent flotation efficiency. A comprehensive tailings recovery project implemented by a kaolin mining operation stands as a successful demonstration of this technological approach.
The flotation process then utilizes selective collectors to separate minerals based on their surface charge characteristics and floatability. Barite, with its well-defined flake structure and negative surface charge, is preferentially floated using amine-based cationic collectors. The separation of feldspar and quartz relies on the synergistic action between fluoride activators and specific inhibitors, ultimately achieving efficient tripartite separation of the three components PTMS MAGNETIC SEPARATOR.
The tailings comprehensive PTMS MAGNETIC SEPARATOR recovery project has an annual processing capacity of about 300,000 tons of tailings. Through optimizing the chemical system and process structure, it has successfully produced mica concentrate (K₂O content up to 9.5%), feldspar concentrate (K₂O+Na₂O total 12.8%) and quartz concentrate (SiO₂ purity 99.2%), which are widely used in glass, ceramic and insulating materials industries.
